The more the merrier, as we always say! And what’s merrier than getting a great deal on a bulk order of your favorite items? With the Bulk Discounts offer, you can incentivize your customers to make a larger purchase and buy multiple products.
Getting set up
Choose items to discount
Select the minimum quantity of products your customer needs to get a discount, then select which products/collections will be eligible for the bulk discount.
If you apply the discount to a single product, the customer will need to purchase multiples of that product to receive the discount. If you choose multiple products or a collection, they will be able to get the discount by selecting any combination of those products.
Choose the Discount type
For your offer, you can choose from either:
- A discount percentage (Example: Get 15% off when you buy 5 or more baskets.)
- A dollar-based discount (Example: Get $10 off when you buy 5 or more baskets.)
Visibility and availability
Create urgency and draw attention to your sale using the sales badges and offer messaging. Here’s how the bulk discount will show throughout your site:
- Starting on the Collection page, a banner will highlight the quantity required for the discount you’ve set up. If you have enabled sales badges, these will show on the Collection page as well.
- On the Product page, the banner will show the amount and discount.
- On the Cart page, if the customer has not hit the amount required for the offer, the banner will still show. Once the trigger is hit, a success message will show.
If you would like to change the colors or appearance of the badges and banners, you can do that in the Appearance settings.
Tip: In the Availability section of the app admin, you can create a schedule for your offer. You can also choose who can take advantage of your offer by requiring customers to log in or creating custom links.

Testing the offer
Start on the Bulk Collection page here. The offer is set to provide a 10% discount when 5 products from the collection are purchased. You can select 5 of the same product or mix and match with different items from the collection to get the 10% discount.
How to get the most out of bulk discounts
Sell more with less effort
Bulk buyers make selling and shipping easier and buy more products per shopping session. It’s often easier to fulfil, package and ship multiples of the same product than singles of different product lines.
Reward returning customers
Keep track of shoppers who buy products in multiples! You can add these customers to a customer group in Shopify. Then use the Bulk Discount offer to give exclusive bulk pricing to them. You can set a percentage or amount-based discount to your chosen products.
Create an Upsell
If you include multiple products in a Bulk offer, you can create an Upsell offer for those products so that the customers know which products are eligible for a discount.
Test different bulk offers
Try offering bulk discounts on different products and collections to see what results in the most sales. Experimentation will help you find the sweet spot that produces the highest profit!
